New Cypress music festival will raise money for local charities

A Cypress group plans to host an all-day music festival to support local charities

A 12-hour musical performance will soon come to Cypress to raise money for a local charities.

The 2024 CMS Music Fest is multi-genre event hosted by Cypress Music Scene. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. March 23 at The Barn at The Frio.

Two local charities, Tunnels to Towers of Greater Houston and Cy-Fair Helping Hands, will share all ticket proceeds. Tunnels to Towers provides housing and resources for veterans in need. Cy-Fair Helping Hands helps community members experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

The event will also have vendors and food at the venue grounds. Cypress Music Scene is a female-owned local business that aims to promote the area's music scene. The group will post weekly updates on its Facebook page.

According to recent TDLR records, Shell Federal Credit Union-Cypress plans to open a new $2 million location in northwest of Cypress. This is expected to be the first location in Spring and will soon start construction in March.
