The Puddery gets special visits, ranks second on Keith Lee food tour
One of the highlights for me in 2023 was seeing The Puddery owner Janel Prator's nearly overnight success in Pearland after TikTok food critic Keith Lee's review during his Houston Food Tour.
The dessert shop is what boosted Houston to second place in his overall city food tour rankings.
"There was one place that carried Houston for me: the Puddery," Lee said. "I've always been very picky on desserts because I'm not a huge sweets person. I like sweets but they gotta be very good for me to like them."
I have been following the business' journey on social media. Customers have been lining up around the corner nearly every day, rain or shine, to try Prator's famous banana pudding.
A couple influencers and celebrities have even stopped by the shop during the holidays including French Montana's DJ Duffey and Houston rapper Slim Thug.
Prator has been updating customers on Instagram of any closing during the holidays and announced on Tuesday that she is searching for a person or business to help makeover her dessert shop's lobby.
I have yet to try Prator's banana pudding because I haven't found the time to wait in a two-hour long line. I will, however, say every video and picture makes my mouth water.
Have you tried desserts from The Puddery? Do you know of anyone who drove or flew in to try the banana pudding? Let's chat about it!

2024 is a leap year. Here's why those exist.
This leap year may seem like another average year for people. But for leaplings, it's an opportunity to celebrate their true birthdays — a chance they only get once every four years.
