We're back with Where We're Eating.

Some say it's too early for crawfish season. Some think otherwise.

Whether you're ready or not, crawfish shacks, restaurants and bars are already loading up on seasonal boils. What we love about Houston is you'll find traditional Louisiana-style, Viet-Cajun and Texified versions.

We like 'em all. And we love to hear that farmers are expecting a healthy season, thanks to last year's moderate weather.

Crawfish at Blazin Cajun.

#1 - Blazin Cajun HTX

Why we love it: Offers a variety of great crawfish at a fun location on the Decoy bar patio next to the volleyball courts.

What to order: Crawfish in a more traditional dry seasoning or coated in a sauce it calls H-Town Drip with shrimp, edamame and andouille sausage.

Location: Spring Branch

Crawfish at Reel Seafood & Bar on March 10, 2024

#2 - Reel Seafood and Bar

Why we love it: A destination for Viet-Cajun seafood that tastes like it's just been plucked from the water.

What to order: Crawfish in your choice of Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or a mix of all three. Tom yum (a hot and spicy flavor popular in Thai cooking) is available, too.

Location: Shady Acres

Crawfish from Swamp Donkeys Crawfish and Seafood in Kingwood

#3 - Swamp Donkeys Crawfish and Seafood

Why we love it: Feels like a Louisiana summer cookout with food trucks next to the crawfish stand and outdoor seating.

What to order: Crawfish (spice levels from regular to "hotter than your girlfriend's sister") and boudin.

Location: Kingwood
