Channel your inner Steve Harvey at one of several new entertainment venues coming to Shenandoah

Get ready for a slew of entertainment centers and new restaurants coming to The Woodlands area.

Soon, you can live out your own "Family Feud" experience at Game Show Battle Rooms, which is expected to open in Shenandoah's Metropark Square in August. The venue offers a "game show" experience, with three different game rooms that include themes from "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price Is Right." 

Shenandoah is developing into an entertainment hub of sports, with high-tech challenge room space BRKThrough and escape foom venue Escapology also coming to the square.

New Shenandoah restaurants include New York City-based bubble tea shop TBAAR, Kyuramen and KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot, which will open at the Sam Moon Shopping Center. Pluckers is also set to open in the city this year.

Haverty's will return to the Houston market for the first time in decades with a new store at the former Bed Bath and Beyond space in The Woodlands, according to a May earnings call.

That was one of several key points raised by leaders during Havertys' first quarter earnings call with investors on May 2.

"We're very excited to announce plans to return to Houston, Texas. Havertys left Houston more than 40 years ago, and it's the largest market in our footprint where we do not have stores," Clarence Smith, CEO and chairman, said. "We will open our first store in a former Bed Bath & Beyond building in The Woodlands area


Shout out

Texas A&M students rescued three people who had been adrift at sea for 15 days in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday.

Texas A&M Maritime Academy Cadets William Flores and Kai Ethridge spotted the vessel while onboard S Kennedy for the academy's summer sea semester.

The three have since been reunited with their families. So cool!
