-- Two major Texas rivers, the Trinity and San Jacinto, drain into Galveston Bay. But since late April, record flooding and heavy rainfall across both river basins have been catastrophic for the bay's oyster population.

-- You're about to see a lot more Freddy's. An announcement late last week revealed Lone Star Custard, a Texas franchise group, has plans to open 20 more locations of the Kansas-based fast-food restaurant in the area.
