Walmart to close Granite Bay store, pharmacy after 12 years – Walmart announced Tuesday it will close its Granite Bay store in April. The store, a neighborhood market located on Douglas Boulevard, will close to the public on April 12, according to a company news release. Walmart said the store is not performing as well as the company hoped it would; it opened in September 2012. All store employees are eligible for transfer and will be paid through June 14, Walmart said. If employees do not transfer, those eligible will receive severance after that date.
