FBCL's new state-of-the-art Fulshear library is getting ready to welcome readers

FBCL's new Fulshear Branch Library will be ready to welcome readers in two weeks' time.

The new library replaces the permanently-closed Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.

It features more open spaces, natural lighting, study rooms and a computer lab with 176 computers.

FBCL aimed to have the Fulshear Branch Library ready by the summer of 2023, but encountered various obstacles that caused delays in the timeline.

The soft opening is set for Monday, Dec. 18, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for January of the upcoming year.

Shout Out

Thank you to these first graders at Colony Bend Elementary School for making holiday cards and craft bags for hospitalized children at Texas Children's Hospital. The school's theme this year, "CBE has a Heart for Others." Hospitalized children will receive a handmade card and a bag that contains materials they can use to create their own holiday crafts.

One last thing ...

I planned to make witty catfishing jokes but drew a blank.
This is a very happy story. Kingwood man Mac Mayo caught a tiny kitten during a fishing trip.
The little black and white furball is in good health and looking for its forever home.
