Are you looking at charters? This new Richmond school teaches English, Spanish and Mandarin.

A brand-new charter school is under construction in Richmond. 

This new school will accommodate the needs of Fort Bend County's growing population and, more importantly, offer parents an additional choice in education for their children.

International Leadership of Texas' Richmond campus, which will open for the 2024-25 academic year, has already received more than 300 applications from interested parents.

The ILTexas schools provide students an opportunity to learn English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese along with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills required by the state.

Construction continues along Kuykendahl Road to widen it from a two-lane half boulevard to a four-lane full boulevard from Lake Woodlands Drive to Research Forest Drive. Five members of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors agreed on a resolution both supporting and opposing some aspects of the Montgomery County 2021 Major Thoroughfare Plan in an online meeting Wednesday.

Houston's rich history is present in its street and community names. These suburban streets honor, or reference, specific moments in history and cultures important to the area.

New charter school ILTexas to open Richmond campus in 2024.

Trilingual charter school International Leadership of Texas has named longtime educator Steven Speyrer as the principal of its Richmond campus, which is now officially under construction.


Openings and Closings

The Sauer Kraut Grill, located at 734 Crabb River Road, Richmond, closed its doors on Saturday, Dec. 2. The eatery will now operate as a food truck.


Shout Out

Lovable senior shelter dog Melvin found his forever home just in time for the holidays, after spending more than a year at the Fort Bend Animal Shelter. Fort Bend County Animal Services shared photos of Melvin having fun at the beach.  "He's the best dog ever," said Melvin's new human, Krystle Phelps.

FBCAS is hosting a pet adoption event on Dec 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, 4310 Highway 36 S, Rosenberg.


One last thing ...
