HCA Houston Healthcare expands in the northwest Houston area

A SignatureCare Emergency Center in Cypress will now transition an HCA Houston ER 24/7 as part the health care provider's continued expansion.

HCA Houston Healthcare purchased 11 SignatureCare Emergency Centers throughout the Houston area in Cypress, Memorial City, Spring and other areas.

HCA Houston ER 24/7, will offer emergency care services, a clinical laboratory, cardiac monitoring, overnight observation and telemedicine capabilities.

With these 11 new centers, it will bring approximately 350 new colleagues and 100 new physicians into the HCA Houston Healthcare network.

The company recently opened an HCA Houston ER 24/7 in partnership with its Pearland hospital, that features a 10,000-square-foot emergency room, 11 exam rooms and more. Additionally, CareNow Urgent Care locations opened in Bear Creek and Deer Park.

Cy Springs and Cy Falls make big jump in Houston high school boys basketball rankings.

Cy-Fair ISD teams are already off to a good start for high school hoops. 9-2 Cypress Springs and 7-1 Cypress Falls among top 10 Houston's area high schools.

Bridgeland High School's Benjamin Montgomery was named the 2023 All-Greater Houston boys cross country runner of the year. In just his junior season, Montgomery will complete in the Nike Cross Nationals meet on Dec. 2 in Portland after finishing fifth in the regional meet. This year, he finished third in the UIL State Cross Country Championships and lead his team to a seventh-place finish.

Cy-Fair ISD athletes continue to make headlines as this Bridgeland junior won bronze at state and gold medals at the regional and district meets this fall.

HCA Houston Healthcare will be expanding their service after purchasing 11 SignatureCare Emergency Centers throughout the Houston area, including Cypress. 


Openings and closings

Safe Splash Swim School is expected to open next year, offering swim lessons to all ages. The school's services also include competitive swimming classes. 


Shout out

Congratulations to Cy-Fair ISD football players who were named to the 2023 First Team All-District 17-6A. 

As Friday Night Lights came to an end, several players were still shining in the Cy-Fair area. 25 players throughout the district at Cy-Fair, Cypress Ridge, Cypress Creek and Jersey Village High School were selected and recognized as All-District 17-6A players.
