Dallas sweeps Houston in 6A state championship games

In a couple of battles between Houston and Dallas, Big D won the day.

North Shore saw another banner season end with a 49-33 loss against Duncanville in the Class 6A Division I state championship game Saturday at AT&T Stadium.

LSU commit Caden Durham was outstanding for the Panthers (14-1), who repeated as champions. Durham rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns to lead the charge. North Shore finished 15-1.

Just a few hours later, Summer Creek suffered a 74-14 loss against DeSoto in the Class 6A Division II title game. The Eagles (15-0) set a new record for the most points scored in a Class 6A state title game.

Summer Creek, which enjoyed the best season in program history, finished 14-2.

Duncanville dominated to claim its second straight Class 6A Division II state title by defeating North Shore in front of 40,673 fans at AT&T Stadium.

North Shore QB Kaleb Bailey's journey comes full circle

Two years after leading North Shore to a state title over Duncanville as a freshman, Kaleb Bailey felt blessed to be able to play Saturday.

Summer Creek drops state championship game to DeSoto

Summer Creek was making its first appearance and was the first team from Humble ISD to play in a state final.
