  Earthquake test alert wakes up some Californians at 3:19 a.m. –Californians with the MyShake Application were supposed to receive a test alert on Thursday at 10:19 a.m. But some people were woken up by the alert several hours early. It was sent out to users at 10:19 UTC, which is 3:19 a.m. Pacific Time. ShakeAlert said it was likely a mixup between time zones set in the test alert system. About 2.8 million people with the app received a test alert about a fake magnitude 5.0 earthquake in San Francisco. Understandably, several users were frustrated with the timing of the test alert. Family-owned Jelly Belly sold to Chicago company – A Chicago company will be taking over a family-owned staple in Fairfield, Jelly Belly. Ferrara Candy Company announced the agreement to acquire Jelly Belly through CTH Invest. Financial terms of the deal weren't released. The acquisition will see Jelly Belly's more than 100 flavors of jelly beans and gourmet candies combined with Ferrara's portfolio of candies. Jelly Belly, headquartered in Fairfield, is renowned for its jelly beans and many other confections, and Ferrara is known for brands such as Black Forest, NERDS, SweeTARTS and Trolli. Stockton Unified School District works to address 'high-risk' status – Stockton Unified School District is addressing concerns and highlighting progress in their first 100 days with a new superintendent. It comes a week after the Department of Education designated the district as high-risk after auditing its finances. According to the state I-Ready test, 87% of high school students are three grade levels below where they should be in math and 62% in English.
