Ken Paxton acquitted by Texas Senate, reinstated as attorney general

The third-term Republican has avoided becoming the first statewide official to be thrown from office in over a century.  The articles ranged from specific accusations, such as Paxton wrongly firing former aides who reported him to law enforcement, to broader charges of misuse of public resources and dereliction of duty.
