Ken Paxton acquitted, Texas Senate reinstates him as attorney general
The Texas Senate has acquitted Attorney General Ken Paxton of all charges, reinstating him as the state’s top lawyer.
Paxton was accused of accepting bribes and misusing the powers of his office to help Austin real estate developer Nate Paul, a friend and campaign donor. The Texas House impeached him in May, temporarily suspending him from office, but he will now reassume his post.
