Three weekend takeaways
Tomball Memorial opens eyes: The Wildcats are on a roll and had high school football fans doing a doubletake while sorting through scores this weekend. Tomball Memorial set a new program record for points during a 79-33 victory against Klein Cain in District 15-6A action. Quarterback Aiden Martin is one of our weekly top performers for his efforts in the contest.
K-Park gaining momentum: Kingwood Park improved to 4-1 with a victory against Crosby on Saturday evening. The Panthers have won two consecutive district games with a big matchup against first-place La Porte coming this week. Kingwood Park has been stout on defense recently, surrendering just 18 points over its past two games.
Big Katy ISD matchup looming: District 19-6A title hopes will be on the line this week as Jordan takes on No. 9 state-ranked Katy in one of the biggest matchups in the Houston area. Jordan is 4-0 for the first time in program history and will try to knock off the Tigers, who are aiming to capture their third consecutive district championship this year.
