| Man who allegedly had knife on light rail train shot, killed by police near Sacramento City College – A man who allegedly had a knife on the light rail train was shot and killed by police near Sacramento City College Tuesday evening. Sgt. Carlos Martinez, spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department, said the person was reported around 5 p.m. In an update, police said multiple callers reported him being armed with a machete or large knife. The train stopped near the 3800 block of 24th Street and police got the alleged knife-wielding man off the train and tried speaking with him. Roseville parents concerned after man allegedly approached student at Stoneridge Elementary School – Roseville parents are concerned after a man allegedly approached a student at Stoneridge Elementary School Tuesday. Principal Megan Spears said in a letter to families that a parent told the school a man approached a student during dismissal in the front of the campus and told the student their parent asked him to pick them up. The man was wearing sunglasses and a face covering/surgical mask. Sacramento man charged in double fatal Highway 149 crash – A 25-year-old Sacramento man was arraigned in Butte County Superior Court for charges related to an Aug. 6 crash near the intersection of Highways 149 and 99.
