Let us know about an outstanding Pearland area student

In weeks leading up to the first day of school, I've been thinking about teachers decorating their classroom and creating Amazon wish lists while parents scramble for last-minute school supplies and snacks at stores.

Pearland ISD welcomed back more than 21,000 students across 23 campuses this week, and Alvin ISD celebrated students attending its renovated junior high and new elementary school last week.

I've been following along the districts' Facebook accounts to see all the kids' excitement to learn and see their favorite teachers again. It's pure bliss.

It's astonishing to see all the amazing projects completed by students in these districts. I saw a glimpse of these students in May when I received more than 100 nominations for our Student of the Year poll.

Due to its success, we are now taking submissions Student of the Month, with the first poll coming out in September. So, keep an eye out for outstanding students in the area! Here's the nomination form.
