  Man dead after crash on Walerga Road near Antelope, Roseville – A man died in a crash in Placer County near Antelope and Roseville, California Highway Patrol said Tuesday. The crash happened near Walerga Road and PFE Road and involved two vehicles. Two people were taken to a hospital for injuries and one man died in the crash, according to CHP. It's not clear how it happened but law enforcement says the people in each car knew each other and were involved in an "interaction/conflict" before the crash. Sacramento City Attorney pushes back on 'excessive heat' pause of encampment sweeps – Sacramento City Attorney Susana Alcala Wood announced Monday she filed an appeal against the U.S. District Court's decision to extend a pause on the city's encampment sweeps because of 'excessive heat' conditions. This is the second summer a U.S. District Court put a pause on encampment sweeps, and Wood said the order does "not hold up to scrutiny or common sense."  Tension is brewing in Placer County between Rocklin and Lincoln breweries now engaged in a legal battle over trade secrets and breach of contract, among other complaints. Read the latest here.
