08/19/1992 - Pres. George H.W. Bush joins his wife, Barbara, and their grandchildren on the podium during the third night of the 1992 Republican National Convention in the Houston Astrodome. First Lady Barbara Bush had just addressed the convention with a seven-minute speech that emphasized family values of integrity, strength, pride, and glowing references to her husband. President Bush made a surprise appearance at the convention after the speech Wednesday night.
