The new Elysian Street viaduct opened Friday with a ribbon cutting five years in the making. The connector will allow drivers from Near Northside to bypass surface streets below when travelling into downtown Houston.
You've likely passed underneath it while driving just north of downtown. It's a brightly colored project with each support beam painted a vibrant pink and purple.
