| Sacramento County recommends fully vaccinated people resume wearing masks indoors – After a recent rise in coronavirus cases, specifically the Delta variant, Sacramento County opted to advise residents to resume wearing masks indoors regardless of their vaccination status. “The drastic increase in cases is concerning – as is the number of people choosing not to get vaccinated,” Sacramento County Public Health Officer Olivia Kasirye said. She added that vaccination remains the best deterrent of COVID-19. This comes a day after Yolo County recommended the same guidance. (Joe Jarosz & Eden Harris, ABC10) UC Davis baseball team suspended indefinitely for allegations of misconduct – The UC Davis baseball team was accused of misconduct, and the school launched an investigation. In the meantime, the entire team is suspended from practicing for an undetermined period of time. The coaching staff is also on administrative leave until the investigation is over. In Butte, the Dixie Fire has yet to be contained and has caused evacuation warnings for communities near the fire.
