Plans continue for the creation of a public golf course in the upcoming massive East River development along Buffalo Bayou. The East River 9 will feature nine bayou-side holes at the mixed-use development in east Houston.

Consequentially, it will be the fifth golf course inside Loop 610 when it opens in spring 2022. You read that right: It will join the cadre of four existing courses already taking up acreage in Houston's city center.

There are already courses in Memorial Park, Hermann Park, River Oaks and near Magnolia Park. Is there truly demand for another giant golf refuge while so many other projects go un-funded and unrealized around downtown?
