Home runs are haunting Mike Burrows, the more for when they are happening. Ten of 15 home runs the Houston Astros’ right-hander has allowed this season are with runners on base. No pitcher in the majors has surrendered more, a pattern that has marred Burrows’ first half with his new club.
It recurred Tuesday, as two swings by the Pirates, his former team, produced five runs against Burrows in a 10-6 Astros loss.
