Today's starting lineup

Losing Carlos Correa is an undeniable blow to an Astros team trying to reverse a poor start. Yet what ensued Wednesday, in the wake of his news, reinforced the biggest flaw that must be fixed for that to happen.

Scuttling them is a pitching staff lacking any stability nearly six weeks into the season. A 12-2 loss to the Dodgers in their series finale left the Astros with a 5.82 ERA, nearly a full run higher than that of any other major-league team. Their record of 15-23 despite a top-10 offense in most meaningful categories reflects the depth of those pitching problems. Matt Kawahara examines the issue.
