Austin Point, a massive new community planned for Fort Bend County, officially opened in late March. The community could have 50,000 residents once complete, developer The Signorelli Co. says.
What a huge new community says about Houston's growth
This past week, I toured the first phase of Austin Point, a massive new community opening in Fort Bend County that offers a glimpse at Houston's next chapter of growth.
While there are a little over 120 homes on the ground today in Austin Point, the project is expected to grow into a 14,000-home community with 50,000 residents— large enough to rival a small city. Austin Point and a nearby new community called the George show how development is pushing beyond Sugar Land into more rural parts of the region.
Take a closer look at what's coming and what it signals about where Houston is headed.
