Judge KP George has been removed from office as Daniel Wong takes his place
If you ever feel like average citizens don't have the power to affect major change, the saga of KP George might change your mind.
His felony indictment for money laundering was set into motion by an eagle-eyed finance expert, and his fall from office was kicked off by another resident that didn't like how he behaved during Commissioners Court meetings.
George has been officially ousted from his seat following his felony conviction, but not because of it.
His removal stems from a civil petition filed under Chapter 87 of the Texas Local Government Code, which allows residents to seek removal of county officers for official misconduct or incompetency. A judge agreed, and George was out,
In another interesting twist, George will be replaced by Daniel Wong, who, if you recall, defeated George in the Republican primary.
Check out my full coverage on what you need to know about this new development in George's legal woes.
