Ramadan Mubarak or Ramadan Kareem?

One of the most important times of the year has begun in Dubai.

Ramadan 2026 officially started on Wednesday February 18 in the UAE and you'll no doubt have seen, or said, "Ramadan Mubarak" and "Ramadan Kareem".

But what do they actually mean, and is one more appropriate than the other?

The good news: both are perfectly acceptable. However, there are subtle differences that might influence which greeting you choose this month. We share everything you need to know below.
