A Montgomery County rodeo tradition is back in town this Saturday

Greetings, Montgomery County friends.

A time-honored tradition in downtown Conroe rides again this Saturday, Feb. 21 with the 61st Annual Go Texan Parade. The parade route, which begins at 1 p.m., will take off at FM 2854 and Texas 75 and will wind through downtown Conroe.

The event hosted by the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber and local Go Texan committee kicks off rodeo season in Montgomery County with decorative floats, bands, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo dignitaries, politicians and plenty of riders on horseback.

This year, the famed Texas A&M University Parsons Mounted Cavalry will be a part of the parade with Pat Mann Phillips, the chairman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Board, as the grand marshal.

Plus: Early voting for the primaries began Tuesday and continues through Feb. 27 with Election Day on March 3.
