Seattle’s startup lawyers and bankers are putting their own money to work. Service Provider Capital’s new Pacific Northwest fund, led by Stifel’s Minh Le and Wilson Sonsini’s Craig Sherman and David Wickwire, has raised $3 million to invest in early-stage tech companies.

  • Upward, a Seattle fintech startup that helps businesses embed payments and banking into their products, raised $8 million and announced a partnership with Mastercard. 

  • Oleria, a Seattle-based cybersecurity startup that manages employee access to applications and data, raised $19 million.

Expedia shares surged after the Seattle-based travel giant topped estimates for Q3 earnings. The company also said it is monitoring potential disruptions from the ongoing U.S. government shutdown and recent FAA-ordered flight cancellations. Read more.
