Yes, you can eat outside this summer (sort of)

Dubai's restaurants have seriously upped their terrace game this summer and we're not just talking about having a couple of mist fans and blasting outdoor ACs.

More and more restaurants this year have been investing in cool tech (figuratively and literally) to create chilled-out outdoor spaces with enough comfort to make you (almost) forget it's July.

Take Zenon in Downtown Dubai. The futuristic dining spot has some pretty powerful, high-tech cooling systems dotted across the terrace so you can dine under the stars without breaking a sweat.

Over in DIFC, the OG spot Café Belge, with its sunken garden-style terrace, stays naturally cooler.

And if you're down in Jumeirah, Brunch & Cake doesn't just serve up pretty plates. If you didn't already know, you can literally dine in your very own air-conditioned dome. Talk about living in a Dubai bubble...

My point is, this city isn't letting a little (okay, a lot) of heat get in the way of alfresco living. Dubai nails that outdoor feeling whatever the time of year, so don't be surprised if your next foodie situ feels more like October than peak summer.

What's your favourite cool terrace in Dubai? I'd love to know, so drop me a line at yousra.zaki@itp.com

Until then... Stay hydrated,
