| Eastbound Highway 50 closed at I-80 for construction - Part of eastbound Highway 50 will be closed to start the work week in the Sacramento area. Caltrans is doing a full freeway closure of eastbound Highway 50 in West Sacramento from I-80 to Jefferson Boulevard. The project started at 9 p.m. on June 13 and is expected to last until 4 a.m. on June 17. Officials are urging people to plan ahead and use other ways through the area. A Caltrans spokesperson says the project is still on track at this point, adding that it could wrap up early but won't go beyond 5 a.m. Lodi neighbors push for action as park visitors block driveways, issue threats – Just steps from the shimmering shoreline of Lodi Lake, some neighbors say their street has become chaotic and even dangerous. People living along Laurel Avenue, a narrow residential road just east of the popular park's entrance, say crowds of lake-goers are increasingly blocking driveways, taking up parking spots in front of homes and, in some cases, threatening homeowners who ask them to move. Now, neighbors are taking action. Some have brought concerns directly to Lodi City Hall and plan to attend a community meeting on Tuesday to push for a solution.
