Belly of the Beast chef wins Houston's first James Beard Award this year
Belly of the Beast chef Thomas Bille won the James Beard Award in the Best Chef Texas category, coming out ahead of not only Tatemó chef Emmanuel Chavez but also chefs in San Antonio, Dallas and Marfa.
The other two finalists from Houston include fine-dining restaurant March, which was in the running for Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program, and Casaema, which is still up for Best New Restaurant, one of the night's final categories.
