Houston Mayor John Whitmire said Tuesday that the city’s police officers have not assisted federal efforts to deport immigrants as the Trump administration threatens mass deportations. The Trump administration this week signed multiple executive orders that attempted to end birthright citizenship, send troops to the southern border and shut down programs for refugees and those seeking asylum.
