Good morning, Houston.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Besides the fact that it's going to be a scorcher today, did you know young children can be at risk if the heat index rises above 90 degrees, like it will today? Let's make sure the kids are hydrated, or doing something indoors, during the heat of the day.

⛅ Temperature check: High of 92; low of 79. Justin's insight: Speaking of the heat index, the National Weather Service is putting Houston under a heat advisory today with heat index values exceeding 108 degrees. Sign up for the weekly Weather Radar newsletter for more coverage.

Best of the Bayou

Today we're talking about a local attorney's side hustle...

If you read one thing: A young Houston lawyer is generating some fashion buzz for the unusual side gig he started out of his downtown office.

What did he do?

It all started with a serendipitous stroll down a beaten path while on a visit to the island of Capri, in Italy. While there, Marcus Spagnoletti came across a stand where raffia shoes were being made. He bought a few pairs and took them home. Over the next few years, men would stop and ask him where he got his shoes.

Long story short, Spagnoletti has created a direct-to-consumer shoe company called Concetto Limone that he runs out of his law office. But to say Spagnoletti did it all by himself would be inaccurate. He's had some help from some well-connected folks, including a former candidate for Houston mayor.
