Today's starting lineup

It looked for awhile Saturday like Framber Valdez might join Don Wilson as the only pitcher to throw two no-hitters for the Astros.

But the Twins finally got to Valdez in the seventh inning but by then the Astros were up 5-0 and cruising to what would be a 5-2 win.

One of the Astros' runs came on a home run to right center by José Abreu, his first of the season. Matt Kawahara takes a look at what Abreu's homer and possible return to his power swing could mean.

The Texans will have a minicamp this week. And one player to watch will be safety Jalen Pitre, who struggled in his second season. Jonathan M. Alexander explains why Pitre thinks this year can be different.

The U.S. men's gymnastics team is hoping for different results this time around in Paris. How does the U.S. plan to get back on the medal stand? Doing moves that come with a higher degree of difficulty. Danielle Lerner has the details.

Texas and Texas A&M will be renewing their football rivalry this fall when the Longhorns move to the SEC. The return of the Thanksgiving weekend game has both sides singing the same tune.

The rivals have met in other sports since the football breakup after the 2011 game and it always come with extra intensity. A&M beat Texas in baseball Saturday in an NCAA regional but it took the No. 3 ranked Aggies 11 innings to put away the Longhorns. Texas A&M needs just one more win to advance to the Super Regional, while Texas must win three more times, starting on Sunday against Louisiana.

Texas did have a better day in softball, knocking off Florida 10-0 in the World Series.

The Big 12, which is losing the Longhorns and Sooners, had a record payoff to its new members and commissioner Brett Yorkmark says the league is "more relevant now that it has ever been."

It's still too early to tell how relevant the LIV Golf tour is but Houston will get a taste of the new league this week when it makes its first stop here. Patrick Reed says the format is made for spectators.

At the state softball tournament, Liberty fell for the second year in a row in the title game to Calallen. In high school baseball, Pearland and Tomball earned trips to the state tournament.

Stat of the day: 3-3. The series between Texas and Texas A&M is now even when the teams meet in the NCAA tournament after the Aggies' 4-2 win in 11 innings on Saturday.
