Today's starting lineup
Which baseball team shall we start with today? The Astros, who have won two straight over the Orioles, or Texas A&M, which is one win away from its first national title?
Let's enjoy the Astros, while we can. Ronel Blanco was in fine form again, and Chas McCormick broke out from a first-half slump at the plate.
It added up to a 5-1 win over the Orioles, who have been one of the AL's top teams all year.
But there was still some concern as rookie Jake Bloss went on the injured list after his first start in the big leagues on Friday.
And now, the Aggies. Texas A&M opened the championship series of the CWS with a dominating 9-5 win over top seed Tennessee and can get the national title on Monday in Omaha.
"It's one win, we can't make it more than that," A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle cautioned. "We've still got a ballgame to win — we've got a series to win. Kind of like the regular season."
The NBA draft is Wednesday and the Rockets have the No. 3 pick. Jonathan Feigen has his final mock draft but reminds us that Houston could still look to trade.
In the Olympics, Dallas sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson won the 100 meters to earn a trip to Paris, three years after a positive drug test for marijuana kept her from the Tokyo Games.
In boxing, Danielle Lerner has the story of Jennifer Lozano, who has made it from Laredo to Paris in a path that was anything but easy.
Stat of the day: 9-0. Texas A&M's record in the NCAA baseball tournament.
