HISD cancels school Friday due to severe storms that left thousands without power
Houston ISD has canceled classes on Friday due to severe storms Thursday evening, according to a statement from the district.
The district's announcement comes after the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Houston until 10 p.m. Thursday and a flood watch through 7 a.m. Friday.
