Teen killed, 4 people shocked as storms slam Houston area with wind and hail

The Houston area faced yet another damaging storm Tuesday, as people in the Cypress area are still recovering from a derecho earlier this month. 

Thousands of people were without power Tuesday evening. A Magnolia teenager was killed while working at a construction site, and three people in Montgomery County suffered electric shock.

More bad weather is expected through the weekend. Here's what to know about the ongoing risk of severe storms in the Houston region

Former Klein ISD student faces felony charges after cyber attack on district.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant for a former Klein ISD student accused of disrupting STAAR testing.

North Houston district left without power after Tuesday storm.

After a heavy storm Tuesday, several schools throughout the Houston area had to cancel after-school activities due to power outages. A few Spring ISD campuses were left without power and bus delays due to the aftermath of Tuesday storm.

What to know about Houston-area crystal lagoons open this summer

Lagoons are becoming a new trend for pool lovers throughout the Houston area including in Humble, Texas City and Dayton. If you are looking for a new pool experience, visiting a lagoon will should be on your summer attraction list.


Openings and closings

Waffle Bus will open in Bridgeland offering homestyle chicken and waffles in Lakeland Village Center. Waffle Bus' menu includes waffles, chicken, angus beef cheeseburgers, hot chicken sandwiches and more.

Congratulations to Cy-Fair ISD's new Postma Elementary School principal Tracy Barstow who brings 24 years of experience to the position. Barstow 24 years of experience comes all within CFISD with holding several teaching and leadership roles throughout the district.

Popular rapper Drake purchases new $15 million ranch home with an organic farm and 7,000-bottle wine cellar in northwest Houston. Drake's new home will be located just 50 minutes from Cy-Fair in Brenham, Texas.
