3 dead after shooting, standoff in Rancho Cordova – Three people are dead after a shooting turned into a standoff Thursday in Rancho Cordova. Around 1:15 a.m., Sacramento County deputies arrived at the scene to find a woman by the front door with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene. The suspected shooter barricaded himself inside the home, and a standoff ended around 4:20 a.m. when deputies shot and killed the suspected shooter.
