  Demonstrators gather at Sacramento State in Gaza war protest – Demonstrators gathered Monday at Sacramento State with pro-Palestinian signs in a protest over the Israel-Hamas war. An encampment is set up at the library quad area on Sacramento State's campus. This comes amid several protests happening at college campuses across the U.S., many of which are organized by coalitions of student groups. Man killed in Sacramento shooting – A man died after a shooting in Sacramento on Monday. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 2:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of Riverside Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital, but the man died. Man arrested for 2019 Tracy homicide extradited to US – A man wanted for a 2019 homicide in Tracy is back in the United States after being arrested in Mexico. According to Tracy Police, Antonio Flores-Cuellar was arrested Dec. 21, 2023, in Mexico. He was wanted for the 2019 shooting death of Andrea Cervantes in Tracy. Flores-Cuellar was extradited back to the United States on Friday.  Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is considering changes, potentially including to its open seating policy, in hopes of raising revenue after reporting $231 million in losses in the first quarter of 2024.
