Supreme Court delays Texas deportation law for a second time
The Supreme Court on Monday indefinitely delayed a Texas law that would empower state authorities to arrest and deport migrants, an effort by Texas Republicans to give the state immigration enforcement powers long left solely to the federal government. For the second time, Justice Samuel Alito extended a stay halting the law, known as Senate Bill 4.
