Katy Foodies: 2024 is your year

If you enjoy food as much as I do, this story is for you.

Our food team has been keeping tabs on the restaurants that are slated to open this year, and so far 2024 is looking delicious.

I don't venture outside Katy often, but when I do, it's almost always for food. I love our restaurant scene, but it's also kind of fun to step outside my comfort zone and see what cuisine options are in the broader Houston area.

That being said, two of the food team's top choices are located in Katy, so we can look forward to appealing new restaurants here as well.

Check out the list and let me know your thoughts. Are you especially excited about any of the incoming restaurants? Email me and let me know.

One last thing ...

Wildlife can be problematic in Katy what with all our alligators, nutria, hogs and coyotes, but at least we aren't being terrorized by feral peacocks.

For decades, peacocks — more accurately called peafowl — have stalked Heathwood neighborhood, shrieking from homes and trees and charging at humans and pets.
