Davis stabbing suspect found competent to stand trial – The man accused of a series of stabbings in Davis in April 2023 had his competency reinstated, a judge ruled Friday. A state hospital report in late December said Carlos Dominguez is now competent, reversing a decision made over the summer. In court Friday, the defense didn't make any challenges on his competency. Dominguez was also ordered to be involuntarily medicated.

10-year-old previously accused in deadly north Sacramento shooting is back home, family says – The 10-year-old who allegedly shot and killed 10-year-old Keith Frierson in North Sacramento after finding a gun in his father’s car is back home, according to his family. One of Davis’ family members spoke with ABC10 Friday and said the 10-year-old previously accused of killing Frierson is back home, and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office isn’t pressing charges against him. Meanwhile, the 10-year-old’s father, 53-year-old Arkete Davis, appeared in court Friday. Davis’ family said they understand he will be held responsible for the shooting.

The Stockton man’s family fled Cambodia before he was born. Thy Tuy was born in a refugee camp in Thailand in 1983 and then brought to the U.S. when he was a year old.
