UH closing in on hiring Tulane's Willie Fritz as next football coach

The University of Houston has zeroed in on Tulane’s Willie Fritz to be the Cougars’ next head coach, two people with knowledge of the decision told the Houston Chronicle. A deal has not been finalized but UH officials are confident it should be as early as Sunday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
