Reader poll: What's the most annoying Christmas song?

From the ages of 15 to 21, I worked various jobs in retail or the service industry. And every year when Christmas came around, my ears were filled with the unrelenting melodies of Christmas carols.

Many Christmas carols are lovely, and they continue to be some of my favorite songs. Unfortunately for my tympanic membranes, there are also some pretty horrible ones.

At some places I worked, we got lucky and my employer just tuned into a radio station that played Christmas carols nonstop from November to January. That wasn't so bad, because at least the painful songs were peppered in with good songs.

Another place I worked had a special "Christmas soundtrack," which was maybe 20 non-secular Christmas jams. Those were pretty rough, because most of them were "edgy" covers of something or 80's bands trying to stay relevant with a Christmas single absolutely no one asked for. Still, the music rotated.

One retailer I worked for, however, had a whole other game plan for Christmas music: The Michael Bublé 2003 Christmas album. And only the  Michael Bublé 2003 Christmas album. We played nothing else.

I want to make this clear- I think Michael Bublé is a tremendous singer. This particular album, however, was the "Let it Snow" album that has only five songs on it.

For eight hours a day I listened to the same five songs. All day every day, Michael Bublé merrily crooned directly into my brain — a cruel juxtaposition to the dissonance of frenzied holiday shoppers bombarding me.

To this day, I cannot listen to Michael Bublé's "White Christmas" without getting the shakes.

Everyone I've talked to seems to have at least one Christmas song that absolutley grates on their soul. As such, I thought it might be fun to put together a reader poll of the most annoying Christmas songs.

Answer my poll and let me know what Christmas song you hate the most. Bonus points if you share why you hate it so much.

One last thing ...

Houston-based Celestis has packed hair clippings from George Washington, Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy onto United Launch Alliance's Vulcan rocket as part of a time capsule that will travel beyond the moon and, according to Celestis, preserve history for humans or aliens to rediscover. The company specializes in sending cremated remains and DNA into space.

Now I can't shake the mental image of aliens unpacking a bag of Washington's hair.
