Some of best new fast-food choices coming to Fort Bend.

I can't believe 2023 is almost over. And 2024 will bring a leap year, the 60th U.S. presidential election and more new developments in Fort Bend County. 

This week we're looking at some of the best new fast food options coming soon, including a new Chipotle in Missouri City, a new Five Guys in Stafford, and a new P.Terry's Burger Stand in Richmond. For the health conscious, there's Salad and Go.

The new year brings new fast food options to the Houston suburbs, including Austin favorite P. Terry's and the southern fast-food chicken chain Bojangles.


Openings and Closings

H-E-B has opened a new Katy location of its shopping concept designed to help customers save money. The Texas grocery chain on Wednesday opened Joe V's Smart Shop, a smaller shop featuring H-E-B branded items and national brands with lower prices, at 4107 Fry Road.


Shout Out

The Clements boys basketball team took an undefeated record and several convincing victories, including its district opener, into Friday's game at Travis.


One last thing ...

My colleague Peter Warren's got the scoop: pickleball's on the rise, and Texas is playing catch-up. A new projection from an online pickleball platform Pickleheads projects Texas will have to double its number of pickleball courts over the next five-to-seven years to keep up with increased demand from players.
