Dallas woman blocked by Texas Supreme Court for emergency abortion leaves the state

Kate Cox, the 31-year-old Dallas woman blocked from getting an emergency abortion by the Texas Supreme Court, has left the state to have the procedure, her lawyers said Monday.

“This past week of legal limbo has been hellish for Kate,” said Nancy Northup, president and CEO at the Center for Reproductive Rights, which represented Cox. “Her health is on the line. She’s been in and out of the emergency room and she couldn’t wait any longer.”
