Have you seen the "Lego House" near the Grand Parkway in Spring?

Ever wondered what the brightly-colored building on Grand Parkway near Gosling might be?

It's been dubbed the "Lego House" by hundreds of Facebook users speculating the building's purpose last week.

Contrary to some users' beliefs, it won't be a new Tex-Mex restaurant or a new home for the Partridge family. Instead, it's a workshop and family space for a growing Tex-Mex chain.

Restaurant owner Daniel Lozano makes furniture in-house for his two El Refu restaurants in Humble and Tomball. Lozano plans to open restaurants and sports bars, which are almost as brightly-colored as the "Lego House itself, in Port Arthur and on Tomball Parkway in the next few months.

When it's not being used as a workshop, Lozano said the "Lego House" is used for carne asadas with family, friends and employees.

One last thing …

Ever heard of Colony Ridge? Gov. Greg Abbott has called for lawmakers to investigate the Montgomery County neighborhood of around 40,000 because it's allegedly partially controlled by the Mexican cartel. But CEO John Harris says it's just a place for low-income families to get a chance to own land and build a life.
