We are very proud of some of the more rugged destinations we visit with Roads & Kingdoms' League of Travelers—there's no feeling quite like finding bliss and community in unexpected places. But sometimes, you know, it's not bad to journey to a place that is renowned for its natural abundance, famous for its hospitality and cuisine. The kind of region that plucks grapes in the sunshine and feeds them to you, straight off the vine. A place like the Piedmont.
We are returning to this richest slice of northern Italy next Autumn, in a journey called From Piedmont to Aosta on November 10-17, 2024.
This is a week of the prime cut of Northern Italy, from classic Torino to the rolling winelands of the Langhe up to the high mountains of Valle d'Aosta. It's truffle season, and Barolo and Barbaresco are always at hand. The journey unfolds easily, sumptuously, from one momentous day to the next, staying at the most unique properties and drinking with the most renowned producers as we dive headlong into the Very Beautiful Lifestyle of the north.
And the best part? Your two hosts. Torino's own Eugenio Signoroni, who won last year's award for Italian Food Writer of the Year (an award, as you might guess, that the Italians take very seriously). And the prolific Katie Parla, a Rome-based culinary guide and cookbook author who has led everyone from Stanley Tucci to Action Bronson through the markets, wineries and trattorias of Italy.
The 2023 version of this trip sold out almost immediately, so send us a note if you'd like to reserve a spot for next Fall. Meanwhile, you can see more from our travels over the years to the Piedmont and elsewhere on R&K's Instagram. Prices start at $9873 per traveler, based on double occupancy, with a maximum of 10-12 travelers.
More details and exact itinerary on our Piedmont to Aosta page. You can find our other itineraries that still have space available, including in the first half of 2024, on the League site.
