The 713 Weekend Wrap

Welcome to Saturday, Space City,

This weekend, Houstonians will finally get a taste of those long-awaited fall temperatures.

"Nearly two weeks behind schedule, our first true fall cold front will drop highs for the weekend into the 70s and nighttime lows in the 50s," our meteorologist Justin Ballard writes.

Better late than never…

Speaking of late seasonal surges, after clinching a playoff berth in the final series of the regular season, the Astros take the field in Game 1 of the ALDS this afternoon.

The road to the 2023 World Series starts with a matchup against the Minnesota Twins… and it looks like Justin Verlander has found a little extra zip on his fastball just in time for postseason play.

For folks looking to venture out today, there's no shortage of reasons to hit the town, including the Texas Renaissance Festival and Oktoberfest.
