The district is aiming to speed up timelines for evaluating children with disabilities, improve communication with parents and strengthen the quality of instruction for special education students.

Houston's first Black television reporter, Charles Porter Jr., dies at 81

Charles Porter Jr., who blazed the path as Houston's first Black TV news reporter and news producer, has died at at age 81.

A new vulnerability analysis and map show which counties in Texas have populations that are most at risk from climate change impacts. Those with darker shading have more of the risk factors incorporated into the robust model developed by Environmental Defense Fund and Texas A&M.
